What Paul addresses in the second chapter of Philippians is the need for the people of God to live up to their holy calling and to the experience of which they boast. If Christ is indeed in the believer, Paul would argue that their disposition will change, their mind will exude with the humility of Christ, their obedience will be impeccable, and their character will stand out like a bright light in a dark room.
That sadly is too rarely the case with believers today. Is it any wonder that we impact our world so little? Should we be surprised that a depraved and hopeless society shows no interest in the God that we claim to serve? Might it be that our failure to live up to our holy calling has shed a bad light on the God we confess and tainted His image among the spiritually starving?

We seem to be so preocupied with our on little world that we tend to not see the need of others around us.
ReplyDeleteThere is a prayer I just read that was " Lord, let what is up there, come down here " Let all the goodness of Heaven be shown here in our world so we can let others see how good the Lord is.
