A Day of Glad Tidings

What a miraculous find the four lepers relegated to their scorned position outside the city gate stumbled across under the moonlight in the vacated tents of the Syrian army! God had miraculously caused the Syrians to hear the sound of an overpowering army of chariots and horses and they had quickly fled. Now the lepers were spoiling their tents and the hunger that just hours before threatened to destroy them was now perfectly satisfied. And yet, they intuitively knew that there was more to do. Many of their fellow brothers and sisters were also falling victim to the great famine and without them sharing their provisions, horrific peril would follow.

Recognizing the miraculous provision to be from the hand of God, they acknowledged that “this is indeed a day of Glad Tidings” and their blessing must be shared. The news spread and thousands were spared because the spoils provided by God were not hoarded by the blessed recipients of the miracle.

We too have spoils to share. God has blessed us with everything we need for life and Godliness…but many others have not had their spiritual craving satisfied. This is a day of Glad Tidings and we must take what Christ has provided for us and share it with those who have yet to be filled!
